What we hold

  • Your name, email address and, if you give one, a phone number.
  • Your children's first names, as you enter them.
  • Expenses and payments: amounts, dates, categories, descriptions and who logged them.
  • Receipt images you upload.
  • A record of every change, including who made it and when.

Who can see it

The other parent in your household sees everything in that household, which is the point of it. Anyone you invite as a viewer, such as an attorney or mediator, can read it too. Nobody outside your household sees it. We do not sell anything and we do not advertise.

Receipts

Receipt images are stored privately and are never given a public address. They are shown through links that are signed for a few minutes at a time and then expire.

Reading receipts automatically

When you upload a receipt we may send the image to Anthropic's API to read the vendor, date and total so the form can fill itself in. It is used for that and nothing else. You can skip it by typing the details yourself.

Companies that process data for us

  • Clerk, for signing in.
  • Neon, for the database.
  • Cloudflare R2, for receipt images.
  • Anthropic, for reading receipts.
  • Resend, for email.
  • Vercel, for running the site.
  • Sentry, for error reports, which we configure not to include personal details.

Deletion, and its limits

You can ask us to close your account from settings. We deactivate it, end your access everywhere, and remove your details from the parts of the service that are yours alone.

We cannot erase your entries from a shared ledger. The other parent has an equal claim to that record, and removing half of it would leave them with an account of their family finances that is wrong. Entries you made stay, attributed as they were.
